A small design studio run by Jo Dayton that specializes in
typography, design, signpainting and handlettering.
A brief history: I gravitated towards design more then ten years before officially realizing that I should go to art school. It started with a copy of 'The Print Shop Deluxe' on my home computer and a printer when I was in highschool. I spent hours creating and teaching myself the software, my school work got a serious upgrade. I worked on a personal brand, invitations for birthday parties, signs for anything and everything. Labels for my CD collection. Essentially, if I could design and print it I had to try it.
I worked with the theater department in school, building, painting and working on show promotion. Advertising shows was my favorite. I studied science in university, while spending my spare time on student theater productions. Joining a sorority meant endless marketing opportunities from stationary to event tshirts and promo.
A night spent at a party, talking to a graphic designer was my "aha" moment. I applied to and completed a Graphic Design degree at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. My mentors there identified and nurtured my love for lettering, branding and a 'big picture' approach to projects.
I've continued to pursue skills, in letterpress, signpainting and brush handlettering.
